Objectives: Upon completion of the presentation, the learner will be able to:

  1. Grasp the meaning of artificial intelligence (AI).
  2. Examine different AI applications available to faculty and clinicians.
  3. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using AI in clinical or educational settings.

Dr. Jumper currently serves as the Dean of the College of Health Professions at Hardin-Simmns University. Dr. Jumpy has been a licensed physical therapist for 23 years, is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy and a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Dr. Jumper has worked in many settings as a physical therapist including outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing, acute care, and home health. She has served as faculty, Director of Clinical Education, and Program Director in physical therapist education since 2015. Dr. Jumper’s research focus is on physical therapist education and on improved treatments for people with Parkinson’s Disease. Outside of work, she has been married to her wonderful husband, Alan, for 34 years, and loves  spending time with her kids and four amazing grandkids. 
 
Allison Robinson, PT, DPT earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences from Lubbock Christian University. She received her doctorate degree in physical therapy from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Allison is an Assistant Professor at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where she teaches Neuroscience and Clinical Neuro Rehabilitation courses. In the healthcare field, Allison has worked as a physical therapist in the inpatient rehabilitation setting with a special interest in patients of all ages with neurological disorders. Allison is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurological physical therapy and holds a Neuro-IFRAH certification in brain injury and stroke rehabilitation. Allison also has a special interest in transportation safety and is a Certified Car Seat Technician with an additional Special Needs Certification. Her current research interests include artificial intelligence and cardiovascular exercise in the neurologic population. She has been married to Jared Robinson for 8 years and they have 3 children, Henry, Nora, and Emma.

CCU: This program is approved by TPTA (1 CCU). A certificate will be available if you register in advance. We will provide the certificate following the presentation and completion of the evaluation.

Cost: *PTs or PTAs in need of continuing education credit: $15.00 for APTA members/$25.00 non-members. If you are a CI for HSU and have had an HSU student during 2024 to currently, we will cover your CCU payment. All are welcome to attend Lunch and Learn free of charge if no CCU certificate is needed or if you are a current student.

Lunch is available for those attending in-person for an additional $12 and will include a Deli Lunch Box.
